About this activity

Stormont Park is the perfect place for a fun family day out! Stormont Park is a public park with beautiful gardens, walking and fitness trails, and a children’s play park! The Estate has been recognised as one of Northern Ireland’s best green spaces with the prestigious Green Flag award!
There are two amazing woodland walks within the public area. The long woodland walk is 4km, and the short walk is 2km! The fitness trail covers 1.6km, with outdoor gym equipment at various parts of the trail. This is the perfect place to burn off some extra energy whilst having fun and catching up with family.
The children’s playground is near the Upper Newtownards Road entrance. It has climbing frames, slides and swings! There are also picnic tables and facilities for table top barbeques, so not why make a day of it and bring a pinic whilst taking in the pretty views? This offers 3 large, separate, age grouped areas with thrilling features like huge slides, zip lines, climbing frames, tunnels, swings, rockers and more plus picnic areas and some great views, especially if you finish them off with a march up the hill for the sights.

Around the estate, you will also find historic buildings, statues, memorials and some interesting WW2 sites, including the original barrage balloon anchors that held the balloons protecting the government buildings from bombings during the war!
