Carrickfergus Castle is a stunning Norman castle in Northern Ireland, situated in the town of Carrickfergus in County Antrim, on the northern shore of Belfast Lough. Besieged in turn by the Scots, Irish, English and French, the castle played an important military role until 1928 and remains one of the best preserved medieval structures in Ireland. Why not head there, take in the stunning views and learn about its rich history?
The castle also houses historical displays as well as cannons from the 17th to the 19th centuries, so as well as hearing stories about the castle's rich history, you can actually see the history!
Information boards, audio-visual displays and life-size models of historic figures allow you to get the most out of your visit and explore the Castle and its history.
