About this activity

Canterbury Historic River Tours have a variety of tours for you to discover the history of Canterbury along the river. Discover the hidden secrets of the River Stour and uncover the mysteries along the way.

The guided river tours allow you to sit back and relax as you'll go under the King's Bridge, one of the oldest working road bridges in Britain, up towards Greyfriars' Island.

You'll then journey downstream pass the sixteenth century Old Weavers' House, past the Marlowe Theatre and views of the monastery. The tour lasts for around 45 minutes and suitable for all ages.

You can also opt for an evening tour too during the hours of 6pm and 8pm and you'll have the warm evening light and glow on a Summers day!

Looking for a little bit of spookyness?

Why not uncover the past on one of their chilling tales! You'll hear stories of ghostly sightings and torture as you uncover the horrows of Canterbury by night. It's only suitable for children over ten years old too!
