During your time at the historically important landmark, kids can explore 2000 years of history, as they step inside the Great Tower and discover the grandeur of King Henry II’s medieval palace!

Kids always love uncovering the Secret Wartime Tunnels which lie beneath the castle, before they can climb the medieval Great Tower in person and learn all about its historiy!

From the WWI Fire Command Post and Port War signal station, you can enjoy some amazing views across the English Channel!

It's not just exploring Dover Castle itself on your visit, but you can also spend some time exploring the extensive grounds and defences, and even experience the battlements walk.

A visit Dover Castle allows kids to really embrace and learn about the history of the castle and Henry II, as they experience the majesty, colour and opulence of medieval court life within the Great Tower first hand!

Did you know that Dover Castle also has its own escape room? That's right! You can challenge your other family members to solve puzzles and crack codes, all against the clock in a bid to escape in The Bunker!

The NAAFI (once used by soldiers!) sells hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches and a range of hot meals that change with the seasons. They also have a children's menu available

There's also a secret wartime tunnels tea room for hot snacks, sandwiches, cakes and ice cream, and The Keep, which is a family-friendly café tucked in the walls of the medieval castle, making it the perfect stop off for a hot or cold drink, light lunch, slice of cake or delicious cream team.

There are two shops, so take that pocket money! The Great Tower shop is where you can pick up military souvenirs, then the Secret Wartime Tunnel shop has a WWII theme! Both shops also offer a wide range of other heritage inspired gifts.
