Where are we going today?

Two parks in one with Elitch Gardens, with a theme park AND a water park. You can't ask for more family fun than that!

This Denver based theme/water park was one of the most popular destinations for family's in Colorado for more than a century! That's a lot of family fun! Back then, it was filled with lush gardens, a Ballroom, a theater, and that good old fashioned roller coaster, The Mister Twister.

Then in 1994, the park moved to Denver, and now it's giving family's even bigger family fun!

Did you know that there are actually 53 rides and attractions at Elitch Gardens? You will have your work cut out for you to try and enjoy them all! This includes something for all ages, naturally! Those little ones have 14 pint sized adventures, and there are thrilling coasters, and for good measure - and entire water park!

When Elitch Gardens designed the thrill rides, they weren't kidding! You can take a trip "Down Under" on the Boomerang, or you can lose your mind on a 7 story steeling looping adventure!

You can spin around a half pip, or have your legs and feet dangling as you are blasted through rollovers, dives and double corkscrews.

We won't even begin to tell you about the Sling Shot!

Those little thrillers of the family will have their own kiddie fun with the kids rides, including balloons, train rides, bus rides and even flight school!

We haven't even started on the water park! This is FREE with admission to the theme park, and with water play and thrilling slides, it's a great way to cool off from all the adrenaline of the theme park!

There is almost TOO much fun to be had at Elitch Gardens!

When can we go?

Water park and theme park have different times

Early May to early November

Teachers corner

Why not bring the students along for a celebration (or even science class!) They offer group rates, so give them a call to discuss!.

I'm Hungry!

From sports bar food, corn dogs, ice cream, fries, burgers, and kiddie land food, there is something to fill all tummies!.

Healthy Eating!

Outside food isn't allowed, but you can bring in your own sealed water bottle. If you have special dietary needs you can bring in your own food. There are also healthy options in some of the food outlets.

Any Top Tips?

If you want to avoid the lines, grab some food outside the traditional lunch and dinner hours!.

Doing our bit

Safety is their priority so they have height and age restrictions on some rides to make sure you stay safe!.

Need a little extra help?

They try to accommodate everyone, so check their accessibility guide or speak to Guest Relations when you arrive.

Baby Facilities

There is stroller rental if you need it on a first come basis.

Can I get one of those?

Old time photos, surf shops, face painting, merchandise, souvenirs, gifts...you certainly won't want to forget that pocket money!.

More information

Attendance is lightest weekdays during the summer if you want to enjoy a bit more space.

I disagree with the one star reviews , yes some of the rides are a bit older and break down but its not the parks fault, they are rides and they will break down my advice is go ride something else. To the reviewer that was kicked out of course they will kick you out if you look like trouble. Try looking civil. And to the reviewer complaning about prices that is why you get a season pass with free parking dur.

I have been going to Elitch Gardens for many years. It is generally clean, and everything seems well enough maintained. Many of the rides are typical carnival rides, but there are several more interesting ones, particularly the water rides. There is modest variety of food available, a bit expensive, which is expected at such places. Tickets to get in are not a great value, but the only competition is Lakeside, which is not nearly as nice. Discount tickets are typically available, which helps on cost. Even so, it is very crowded at peak times. Go...Read More

It is great! Knuckle crunching roller coasters, a striking water park, and great priced season pass!!!!! The daily tickets are a little too expensive. What you pay for is what you get for the food. And their food is phenomenal. (Funnel cakes are way better than I expected) this year, if you have a season pass, you get a sneak peek party today! the water park is opening even earlier on may 24!!!!! Hope you guys have a great time!

I have been going to Elitches for years and have loved it till now. 4th of July 2014 totally sucked. Got there at opening which was 10:00 AM and started to have a good time. I was with my mother and she is a smoker. The smoking area last year was in a nice covered area. This year it was a bench out in the sun where you sweat your ass off while trying to have a smoke. We went on some of the rides and was having a good time. Roughly 2 hours into being there, stuff left and right started to shut down. We went all the way up in line for one of the rides...Read More

Even so, it is very crowded at peak times. Go mid-week rather than weekends, if you can, for less crowds. Several times during the season, there are concerts, shows and special events at the park, which can make the whole experience much more interesting, but typically more crowded. The Halloween Fright Fest events in October are pretty fun.

Elitch Gardens is a decent way to spend a day with family or for teens to spend time with friends. I have been at several group or company sponsored events at the park. Elitch's is a lot more interesting spot for such events than the typical hotel conference room.

Elitch's is not Disneyland or Universal Studios, but it is fine given the lack of more interesting choices. It is suitable for teens and pre-teens and there are a few rides for small kids. The water park is usually crowded, but has some good things to do. If you don't set your expectations too high, its a good place to go.

We went on some of the rides and was having a good time. Roughly 2 hours into being there, stuff left and right started to shut down. We went all the way up in line for one of the rides where you can get soaking wet and when we got there, suddenly they were closed down. We left that ride and went to go on another ride only to find one ride after another was closed. This place has gone to shit real fast. Elitches has lost my business for good. We were going to go on the observation tower as we saw it was opened but then when we went to it, it was closed down. The excuse as to why was high winds. The wind was not even blowing one bit. Yeah a little cloud cover but not any winds. I will not go back again. I will plan out for the next and every 4th of July to take the trip out to Six Flags in St. Louis, Missouri. I read the reviews and thought people were just being hateful. Now I see the neg reviews are legit. As we left, we can see a flood of people leaving as we were leaving. And every one of the face expressions was of pissed off. Elitches is no good in my view anymore. Never again will I waste any more of my time, money or energy going. Six Flags is now the new thing for me or Disney World in Florida. Take my advice, don't waste your time with Elitches.
