About this activity

ROAR! Kids...welcome to Jurassic Park....well, not quite, but very close because we're at the Morrison Natural History Museum in Colorado, and it's where you can learn ALL about those impressive and iconic dinosaurs.  You can even see some bones and fossils in real life too - how amazing is that!?

The Morrison Natural History Museum is a small museum with HUGE discoveries, filled with hands-on exhibits at Jefferson County's original paleontology museum. Kids can encounter real life fossils - both historic and modern - as the researchers do their work in the fossil preparation lab.  Did you know that some of the finds include a baby Stegosaurus, baby sauropod tracks and even the missing muzzle of an Apatosaurus ajax.

The exhibits cover a host of topics, including the Time Garden where you can investigate Morrison's geologic setting, as well as onesite fieldwork from the researchers.

Kids can immerse themselves in a patch of Jurassic fora in the Jurassic Garden, or dig for their own fossils in the Dig Pit!

Don't miss the real life T-Rex skull that you can even gently touch. Now THAT is a story! Did we mention they even have LIVE reptiles and amphibians among side mammoth and sabre-tooth cat fossils?

Sounds pretty cool to us!

Only 25 minutes west of Downtown Denver, this great museum is perfect for kids to step back in time, and learn about a world that existed millions and millions of years before the present day.  It's also the perfect orientation to the Dinosaur Ridge areas, so you can really enjoy a full dino adventure!

The Morrison Natural History Museum was designed to be explored with a guide, with three tours daily, but of course you are more than welcome to explore the museum on your own.

The museum was also designed with families in mind, so you know that it's the ultimate way for kids to be exploring what walked on the very ground before them - only much bigger!

A Jurassic sized family adventure is waiting at the Morrison Natural History Museum. Kids - history is waiting!
