The Commandery has exciting stories to tell you and the past is brought to life in front of your eyes! It's set in the heart of Worcester and is famous for being the Royalist headquarters during the English Civil War 1651.
The Commandery is the perfect place for a damily day out! You'll find out more about the weapons, historic displays and you can even try your hand becoming an explorer in the spacious walled gardens! Experience life as a soldier 300 miles from home and test your skills at battle strategy.
Don't forget the check out the beautiful oriel window in the Great Hall. It features 15th century glass panels painted with birds, peacocks and flowers. You'll find there are lots of costumes and dress up options, there's even some for the grown ups too!
On display is Oliver Cromwell's death mask, which is a wax mould of his face made a century or more after his death. If you wanted to head outside, then there's a Nature Play Area too. You can have fun playing and see what you can cook up in the mud kitchen!
Walk in th footsteps of the Tudors and how the family transformed it into a grand family home with beautiful living quarters and more. There's so much to see and do at the museum and stories to be heard, included haunted ones too! Did you know that staff have spotted some haunted happenings? Every October they have after-dark tour to see if you spot the ghostly troublemakers!
If you are travelling by train, Worcester Foregate Street Station is a 12-minute walk from The Commandery, and Shrub Hill Station is a 16-minute walk.
