Croome is a national trust site with lots of activities, gardens and exhibitions for the family to uncover. Owned by the Coventry family since the 16th century, the site has a fascinating history. During rhe Second World War, the site was used a secret wartime airbase. Learn more about the history, the people that worked here and much more with a surprise around every corner.
At the heart of the park is the house, with the rooms used to present temporary exhibitons and more, continuing the 6th Earl's legacy of nurturing new talent. There are some permanent installations, once is Bouke de Vries Golden Box and Will Datson's Chair Play which gives a new perspective.
The parklands and gardens are really spectacular, with seasonal flora and fauna that can be seen throughout the parkland. You can head out on a garden tour to learn more about the history and restoration of the gardens, or tale peek inside one of Croome's eye-catchers on the panorama tower open days. You'll get views across the surrounding countryside, so remember to bring a camera!
There's a natural play area with lots of picnic benches and children can play on tree trunks, build dens and even sit on a wooden throne! Thre's also an RAF themed playground complete with a control towers, bunkers, slides and swings.
They offer sensory maps free of charge at the visitor centre and it encourages little visitors to use touch, sight, sound, taste and smell during their visit to the park. They also have regular seasonal events too, such as Easter adventures and you can head out on a hunt to find eggs! Make sure to check out the website so you know what's happening when and where.
