About this activity

Peterborough Museum and Art Galley is THE place to explore over 150 million years of Peterborough's fascinating history, environment and culture!

Sounds like a fun family day out, doesn't it!?

In fact the Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery allows kids to learn all about the region's rich history, from Jurassic Seas to Roman fortresses, right through to the advent of the railways and modern industry!

The collection at the Peterborough Museum has been building for over 130 years, and many of the objects have national and international importance. These objects include the incredible Jurassic marine reptiles, and finds from Prehistoric and Roman Peterborough.

What's also great about a child's visit to the museum is that they can not only see the obect, but also learn about the remarkable stories behind them. An example is the Napoleonic Craft-work made by prisoners of war at Norman Cross!

The family can also learn about the city's development and the daily life of those who live, and lived, in the area.

Exhibits include items covering Geology, Archaeology, Natural History, Art, Social History and the Norman Cross!
