Floors Castle is the centrepiece of the Roxburghe Estate and was constructed over 300 years ago. Visitors will get the chance to see th evolution of Floors through the generations and there's lots of exciting events and activities for the whole family to get involved in.
The caste is the largest inhabited house in Scotland and is an iconic piece of Scottish architecture. The state is 52,000 acres it total and is surrounded by beautiful scenery from all directions.
The gardens and grounds are a must visit as it has one of the finest Victorian kitchen gardens. Enjoy the colourful borders, glasshouses with fruits and charming summerhouses that are the ideal place for walking and enjoying the countryside.
There are two walks on the estate that allow you to enjoy the landscape.
The woodland walk trail is home to many creatures including tawny owls and red squirrels, as well as mature oak trees. The talk will take around an hour and starts in front of the castle and finishes at the cafe.
The riverside walk is along the banks of the river tweed, and you'll see herons, plvers and much more. You may even catch the family of otters sunbathing! On your way round you'll see the sheep and cattle graze and it'll take about an hour to complete the full walk.

Once you are in the environs of Kelso, please look for the many brown tourist signs directing you to Floors Castle. These can be found dotted around the market town and approach roads.

Floors Castle welcomes visitors with different access requirements, however, due to the historic nature of the Castle and its grounds, access can be limited in some areas.
