Bamburgh Beach is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Northumberland Coast! It’s vast, unspoilt shoreline is uncrowded and backed by fabulous sand dunes and the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. So what are you waiting for? Enjoy taking in the stunning sea views across to Lindisfarne, Holy Island and Farne Islands, and learning something new in the historic castle.
The sandy beach, sheltered by dunes, stretches for miles and dominating the skyline is the majestic outline of Bamburgh Castle. This is where you'll want to go for local amenities, toilets, cafe etc. as well as the collections and exhibits!
As if the views weren't enough, swimming is safe in good weather and surfing is rated highly here with the waves naturally breaking to the left and right because of sandbars! There is no lifeguard cover whoever so do be careful, but swimming, windsurfing and fishing is the perfect way to make the day extra memorable.
If you fancy a bit more exploring then turn right on the beach and walk south to Seahouses, where it's rockier and there are unusual shells. If you're lucky, catch a glimpse of the grey seals, and explore all the birds and wildlife you notice.
Continue straight to stay on A1, turn right onto Front St/B1340, and you're 0.2 miles away.
