Kielder Water & Forest Park is the largest forest and the biggest man-made lake in Northern Europe. It's an adventure playground for cyclists, walkers and all outdoor enthusiasts, and a haven for wildlife too.
You will be spoilt for chouce when you could to play here! For the adventurers there are a range of water and land-based activities on offer, as well as lots of trails for cycling, mountain biking and you can even ride horses.
There's also a dark sky zone, which is the largest Gold Tier Dark Sky Park area in Europe, and the first of its kind in England. It means that the night skies will be kept free from light pollution, allowing you to really see the stars! The observatory is a great thing to do with the family as you connect with the cosmos.
The observatory hosts events to suit everyone: there are family events to entertain young explorers; relaxed events for people with different abilities; introductory events; legends behind the constellations events; and events focusing on phenomena such as the aurora and more.
There are also lots of amazing animals and plants that live all over the park. Take a walk and see what you can as you see the wildlife changes throughout the year!
