Argo Mill and Tunnel located in Idaho Springs is one of the most striking heritage landmarks in the American West. It tells the story of the Coloradio gold-rush and is one of the most well-preserved historic gold mills in the world.
The mill stands over 110' tall and has processed over $100 million of gold ore! On the tour of the mill, you'll be immersed in the history of the Victorian Industrial Revolution. You'll get a brief orientation from your guide on the history of the site, followed by a glimpse inside the portal of the Argo Tunnel.
You'll journey through a site and structure filled with incredible objects, and you'll come face to face with the equipment from the turn of the century. Release your inner perspector and pan for gold or gems and finish up with a browse around the gift shop!
The tour takes around one hour and 15 minutes, and you'll get a gold panning lesson using a sample with real gold. You get to keep what you find too!
