Tate Liverpool is a family-friendly art gallery in Liverpool. They have lots of collections to discover, both temporary and permanent and it's a great place to visit for young people to connect with art.
The ideas depot is one permanent display that showcases artworks chose with primary school children. It's regularly changing and includes artisits such as Salvador Dali and Chris Ofili. The collection highlights how art art is meaningful in everyone's day to day lives and encourages visitors to make their own connections. The primary schools in residence look at the whole curriculum and all learn something new.
Another permanent collection is the Journeys through the Tate Collection, where you'll explore more than 80 works. It considers the impact of the global movement of people on artists and movements through the twentieth century and beyond. On display there are works that explore migrations, colonialism and exchange and how they're relevant to Liverpool. Artists include Anish Kapoor, Sonia Boyce and Chen Zhen.
As well athis, there are lots of temporary exhibitions. Including the Turner Price which is best known prizes for visual art and the Liverpool Biennial which is the largest festival of contemporary art in the UK. Make sure you check out the website so you know what's coming up before you visit!
There's also many family events, such as explore and draw, make at tate and more workshops that will get the kids being creative!
