Newbiggin Maritime Centre in Northumberland is the perfect family out; discover life in a historic fishing village! Discover life in a historic fishing village through the Mary Joicey and Girl Anne interactive exhibitions and varying range of thought provoking exhibits. The Newbiggin Maritime Centre is passionate about offering engaging, creative and unique learning activities. They also have the longest promenade in Northumberland, an adjacent children's playpark and a sandy beach with rock pools! 

As if this wasn't cool enough, there are opportunities for birdwatching, golf, fishing, sailing, and other water sports nearby. Visit the 65 seat Breakwater Café serving local food and overlooking the bay. St Bartholomew's Church is adjacent to the Centre and the UK's oldest operational lifeboat station is close by. They also hold regular events and a strong community engagement programme through education and outreach. There is a great playpark adjacent to the centre, as is a sandy beach with rock pools, registered as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. So what are you waiting for?
