Creswell Crags is a limestone gorge honeycombed with caves and smaller fissures. Walk in the footsteps of early humans and woolly mammoths through their dramatic gorge! It doesn’t cost anything to walk around their stunning limestone gorge, and experience being surrounded by nature with every step you take. You can also book a cave tour and uncover the secrets of their limestone canvas, where early humans sheltered and carved art into the rock. 

Once you've done this, if you're feeling extra adventurous and ready to learn, take a stroll through their museum and view the history that makes Creswell Crags unique. From hyaena poo, to mammoth teeth and early human tolls, you’ll learn about how life evolved and what secrets the caves held for thousands of years! So what are you waiting for? It's the perfect fun and eduational day out.

Marveling at the Ice Age rock art still visible in their extraordinary caves is one of the favourite things to do at C eswell Crags.  Enjoy exploring amongst the timeless beauty of our woodland, meadow, and reflective lake.

They have baby changing facilities on site.

Their cafe has wonderful views of the gorge and plenty of choice of hot meals and snacks.

Pre-book tours and if in a large group, enquire about group discounts.

Their gift shop has unique gifts like replica ice age artefacts, books, handmade candles, mammoth inspired clothing, and cuddly cave bears.

Their trip education focus is KS2 Stone Age and evolution topics.

Their cafe has healthy and vegan options.

Most of their site is totally accessible to wheelchairs and mobility scooters but some of the caves will be difficult to ask due to rockiness.
