About Rother Valley Country Park

Rother Valley Country Park is situated around three large lakes and has lots of activities and waterspots for the family. There's cycle trails, walking trails and a packed events calendar all year round! 

You can explore the paths at trails at the park, from challenging ones to more gentle paths to suit all abilities. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife too! The park backs onto the 215 mile Trans Pennine Trail so there's so much scenery and woodlands and grasslands to discover. Since the park opened, 260 species of birds have been recorded as there's a designated bird feeding area too and you can feed them with the bird food they have at the park. There's also butterflies, small mammals and rabbits too!

There's also bridleways and National Cycle Networks that criss cross around the park which is great for mountain bikers as there's lots of varied terrains! You can hire your bikes at the park or you're more than welcome to bring your own. 

You'll find a small play area at the Northern end of the park with lots of obstacles and equipment for the kids to navigate. You can watch your children play on the equipment and observe all of the action on the lake too! 

If you're a train enthusiast, then why not ride the miniature train? It runs down an 800 metre tracks and can carry up to 26 people! Four-legged friends can get involved too!

The main lake is the focal point and you can get involved with a number of water sport activities such as sailing, paddle boads, pedal boats and more. You can hire equipment, book lessons, courses and even have your birthday party here too.

They have their legendary miniport electric shops too for families and they're all themed! From lifeboats, to ferries or fire boats and they provide a great activity to do with the whole family.

The Stables Cafe located in the Grade 2 Listed 18th Century building. It is open all year-round providing visitors with a tempting range of quality snacks and light meals.

Does Rother Valley Country Park have a gift shop?

The park has a craft centre housing four units offering screen painted items, Malcraft wooden gifts and souvenirs.
