About this activity

Clumber Park covers more than 3,800 acres of picturesque parkland and gardens, peaceful woodlands and an 83 acre serpentine lake, so enjoy exploring the stunning area and see which wildlife you spot! Or, explore over 20 miles of trails through a variety of landscapes and terrains. Bring your own bikes or hire one from their Cycle Hub.

Alongside the pretty nature, spot The Chapel of St Mary the Virgin, which towers above the Pleasure Grounds. This 'cathedral in miniature' opened in 1889 and has lots of interesting histories to learn about. As well as this, see the Ornamental Bridge; Grade II listed, the bridge was built between 1763-1770 by Stephen Wright for the First Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyme. As if all this wasn't enough, the majestic Lime Tree Avenue is almost 2 miles in length and is the longest double avenue of lime trees in Europe! If you need to duck indoors though, Clumber Park also has a Discovery Centre and a Victorian Farm Exhibition. In the Discovery Centre you can find out more about the wildlife around you with hands on activities getting you up close to some furry, feathery, creepy or slimy residents!

There are several outlets offering a range of seasonal meals, snacks and drinks. The Laundry Cottage shop stocks locally sourced food, gifts and homewares and there is a large second-hand bookshop to enjoy browsing in or choosing something!
