About this activity

Clifton Park Museum is an exciting modern museum that takes you through Rotherham's rich history! There's parks, gardens, sports, rides and more too, so you have everything in one place for a perfect family day out.

Encounter the weird and wonderful through the exhibitions. Discover life in early Rotherham from geological foundations to the English Civil War and the world renowned Rockingham pottery that's made locally. The Walker Kitchen has some short films too and has lots of exciting activity programmes throughout the year.

Make sure to visit The Lion's Den too! It focuses on Nelson the Lion and he's been given his own gallery! Crawl through the tree and listen to his roar, which is a great exhibit for children.

Learn about the York and Lancaster Regimental Gallery throughout colourful displays and interactive learning and explore the collections all within the beautiful setting of Clifton House!

As well as the museum, the gardens are a great place to relax and have fun in. There's a fun park with roller coasters, rides, cars and games and even a splash park with fountains and features. Put your putting skills to the test in mini golf and even take a ride on The Clifton Express which takes you from the activity area to the museum and cafe.

There's also lots of learning too inspired by the collection and parks and they bring the past to life with a programme of inspiring interactive activities for schools and groups.
