About this activity

Sherwood Forest Railway is home of Nottinghamshire’s only narrow gauge steam railway! Nestled in a valley in between Mansfield and the historic village of Edwinstowe, trains run regularly between 11am-3pm. It has 5 locomotives, 7 coaches, signals, level crossings, and a tunnel, so there's plenty to see and learn about! Take a ride on the fun narrow gauge railway that trundles through the heart of Sherwood Forest; it runs for one mile through the areas farm land with two crossings, a tunnel, and a couple of stations. The kids will love pulling open carriages behind them.
To make the day even more memorable, they also offer two adventure play areas! They have a dedicated play area for under 5's a seperate, even more thrilling play area for older children.

To make a day of it, bring a picnic to enjoy or buy drinks and ice creams from the refreshment centre at very reasonable prices. As well as this, browse around the refreshment centre to see the exciting range of toys and gifts available to buy - why not take something home to mark the special day?
