Idle Valley

Idle Valley is one of the largest sites for nature conservation in the East Midlands with plenty of stunning views! There are four designated walking routes with five scenic viewing screens and a nature viewing platform; enjoy a fun walk with your loved ones and see which wildlife you can spot. Rare breed cattle and sheep can be seen in various areas around the reserve throughout the year. As if this was't fun enough, there's also an exciting outdoor play space with adventure facilities. This includes climbing walls and slides! 

Look out for birds such as gadwall and little grebe in winter and breeding wading birds including little ringed plover and redshank in spring and summer. The Idle Valley Rural Learning Centre is a high quality educational facility based at the south end of the site and is a venue for a range of training courses and events, so keep up to date with their website for special event days to book. There really is something for everyone!
