The New Castle Historical Society offers opportunities for children to experience the life of Dutch colonists and revolutionary patriots in historic New Castle, Delaware. We operate three museums in Delaware’s Colonial Capital – The Amstel House, The Dutch House, and the Old Library Museum.
In the Amstel and Dutch Houses, children will get a sense of everyday life through guided tours and hand-on activities. Outside, they can explore our historic flower and herb gardens. The Old Library Museum offers a variety of exhibits that change seasonally.
The New Castle Historical Society also offers walking tours of the town for groups, including ghost tours in the fall. Children can play on the historic town Green or in Battery Park on the banks of the Delaware River.
