About this activity

Once a 1940's Woolworth's Department Store, the Delaware History Museum is the perfect place to learn all about the history of the state and it's people! Are you ready to have a trip through the history books in this great museum with changing exhibits?

Each of the exhibits feature a variety of topics that all cover the state's history, including the immigrants who settled, the strong maritime history, as well as the deep roots in agriculture.

There are permanent as well as rotating exhibitions, and the museum even dates back to 1940, so your day out in itself is going back through the history books!

The theme of the exhibitions are "Delaware: one State, Many Stories", where kids can go back as far as the 1600s, right through to the present day.

Who would have thought there is so much history right under your nose! Well, Delaware was the very first recognized state in the USA, so I guess quite a lot of history!

It's a fascinating insight into an amazing state, and kids can get so much more out of the experience than reading books in the classroom. At the Delaware History Museum they can see history right in front of them!
