Things to do for Active Kids
iFLY Austin Austin
Where are we going today?
Have you ever wanted to feel what it's like to jump out of a plane and feel that weightlessness? Or fly like a bird with nothing but air around you? Well, at iFLY Austin, that's exactly what you can experience - and safely! (Parents, we know that's what you wanted to hear!)
iFLY Austin is indoor skydiving, and anyone over 3 years can experience this unique feeling! It's where flying becomes a reality in the specially made wind tunnel - and it's very unique!
When you arrive, you "check in" just as you would a normal flight. You get your boarding pass, and then on your way to the training area you can even see people enjoying their flying time!
Before your flight, a certified instructor will tell you all the dos and don't, the ins and outs, so you will feel comfortable and safe before you fly. You will learn the best body positions, and the hand signals, which you can use to communicate.
Then, you get on your helmet, flight suit and goggles, and it's your time to fly!
iFLY Austin uses technology that is actually what skydivers use to practice their jumps before they actually *gulp* jump out of a plane. Bodyflight has also become a sport of it's own, it's so popular.
It's a fun and unique experience for their family day out in Austin, and something they won't be forgetting in a long time!
So kids, are you ready to take to the skies (but safely in the comfort of Austin) and feel what it's like to be a bird, or a brave skydiver, soaring through the air?

We were skeptical at first, but it was a lot of fun! It's not the free fall experience like skydiving, but it's really fun learning fly using simple body movements to maneuver yourself around! I plan to go back! Our instructor was Daniel, and he was great! Very helpful and encouraging, not to mention an extremely skilled flyer!

Awesome for preteen kids.
Great experience. As an ex paratrooper I took my deaf godson there and it was the experience of his life. Headed back this week. What a blast!!

Not worth the price!
Just too expensive for very short amount of "flying" experience. Also the video and pictures quality aren't good at all.
Spent around 80 dollars for myself, and very disappointed!

The experience was really fun. The management of the operation was extremely poor. I paid for 2 flights and a video for 9 people to make a great set of family mementos . They managed to loose (or fail to provide) 4 of the videos. To "compensate" they provided access to all the stills of the group - which amounted to 3 or 4 of each person. Worse, there were 4 high flights plus a picture of the high flight. No pictures were provided for the high flight - though the pictures were charged at an additional price. Then, to make matters worse, the pictures...Read More

Worse, there were 4 high flights plus a picture of the high flight. No pictures were provided for the high flight - though the pictures were charged at an additional price. Then, to make matters worse, the pictures that were linked to on the web were jumbled up with another party that took the same flight and downloading them was a disaster. While the pictures were organized on the server in a different location, to be able to download more then one at a time, you apparently had to pay an additional fee. So if you want to have fun and "fly", not a bad place, If you want to get what you paid for - not gonna happen.
