Where are we going today?

If you can't decide between wanting the thrills of a theme park, or the spills of a water park, then you're in luck. Why? Because Adventureland in Iowa has BOTH!

Oh yes, and there is much fun to be had so what are you waiting for!? Adventureland has some of the tallest, fastest, and wildest rides in the entire country!

Ever been storm chasing? Now is your chance with the park's newest ride! All you have to do, is brave being taken 260ft off the ground, and spin round at speeds at up to 35mph - is your stomach churning yet!

How about the Gang Plank and Pirate's Plummet? With 2 high speed boyd slides, you will plunge 60 feet into water. Don't forget swimmers that are secured tightly!

Don't be a Splash Over on the human washing machine, and don't try to catch the Falling Star with one of the most popular rides in the park - it will really lift you out of your seat!

Of course, like any good park, Adventureland has family rides and kiddie rides for the not so brave, and the not so big. The Reef Racer is racing excitement with 6 lanes to try and get to the bottom first, and the fun tilt-a-whirl is always a family favorite

Place your bets on Lady Luck, where you spin and spin just like in the casino, and the Frantic Freeway Bumper Cars are always popular with the kiddies because they get to ride with their parents!

Balloons, trains and carousel...and even tea cups...they are all ready and waiting for your family at Adventureland! (And we haven't' even begun to tell you all about the underground ride yet!)

Which one of the family can take the biggest THRILLS?

This is a great park for the people of Iowa, yes you can drive further and pay more to go somewhere else, but we love our Adventureland here in Iowa! The staff is always friendly, the park is well maintained and the attractions are fun!

I have been visiting Adventureland since I was a kid, and now that I have a family of 5 of my own, I take them at least every other year. It's not the largest park nor the one with the greatest thrill rides. But it is affordable, it's great for kids, and the addition of the water park has made it a great 2-day experience. Even when it's busy, it's not nearly as congested as places like Six Flags or Disney, which makes it nice to be able to ride more rides.

I was pretty disapointed with the quality of service, the rides were okay, but when it came to person to person interaction, the people were like robots, they didn't seem happy and didn't seem to care about their job, the waterpark was okay, we tried to buy a locker, but out locker wouldn't shut, it cost $10 and you recieve a $5 refund when you return it, after telling them about our locker, they proceded to do nothing and would not fully refund the full price even though the locker was broken. The website says they keep track of the admision to...Read More

First of all, that is a lot of reviews with no description.. I suspect it is marketing people who want to counter negative reviews. Umm it is a dumb place for dumb people, its located near a Casino. Now that is a lot of dumb! They call it an Amusement park, a place where you go to not think. *face palm* So I would give it probably a five star in that category to give them the benefit there.

The original park is just standard run of the mill, it has your thrills and such, not a bad place to send your kids. But kind of weird and awkward. ...Read More

It's okay, I went there yesterday and kind of felt like its in need of renovation because it felt like it was stuck in the late 80s to mid 90s. The watermark was slightly impressive but the yellow and orange slide was kind of bad. I went with a 7 year old and when we she went down she got stuck and nobody knew it until she didn't come down 2 minutes later. The swim up bars were also cool! If this would he your child's first amusement park, I think they will like it but if your a teenager who has been to Valley Fair, I would recommend you go there...Read More

The park has a nice variety of thrill rides, casual rides, shows, and water park. For the thrill seeker, there are several decent rollercoasters (including a couple of wooden coasters that are iconic), the awesome Space Shot that is short but sweet, and some other notable rides like the Sidewinder (basically a giant pendulum). The Tornado, Dragon, and Outlaw are all fun coasters, each unique but nothing as extravagant as Six Flags or other major amusement parks.

There's a few water rides in the main park, but they've also added a very nice water park area that requires a swim suit but has many activities including a lazy river, wave pool, slides, and kiddie area. There are locker, tube, and cabaña rentals available, as well as concessions and decent locker rooms. The lazy river is actually pretty long and the wave pool is better than you'd expect.

All in all, I'd say it's best to spend two days at Adventureland. You can easily spend several hours just at the water park, and the lines are usually short enough in the main park that you can ride them multiple times. There is a discount for the second day as well, and you can find a small general discount in many area credit unions, grocery stores, etc.

We love Adventureland!

The website says they keep track of the admision to the waterpark, but it was so crowded that you spent more time waiting in lines than you did actually swimming.... Overall it was okay, but could be very much improved upon....

The staff wear ugly colors, and there are black shirt people, hey its freaking hot out and you want to wear black, are you serious?

The Water park is a disgrace to most other water facilities, yes it is bigger, but think about safety here. Not exactly a place you want your kids around, do you really trust your kids with Lifeguards who can barely stay focused? All they do is whatever they feel like doing, if they feel like walking far away from the place they are guarding at, they will. I guess they know that the job they do wont really do much for their future, so why bother, right? Just kids who are thinking about how they want to go to college and party! Because that is not exactly the best way to spend your money... I am sure they are nice people, but they lack principles, work ethic, etc. I suspect the lifeguards really do not like the place themselves, obviously. I wonder why?

So go there if you like eating low quality food probably loaded with corn starch to make you dumber. Do not eat the food if you care about your health. Very overpriced too. I wish I mentioned this part first, but the food is meant to be cheap low grade crap that is bad for your health. That being said, you probably going there for the rides and adrenaline rush. Which is fine, but not an intelligent decision.
