Ynysangharad War Memorial Park

There is always something going on in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park and best still, it's just less than half an hour from Cardiff making it easy to reach by all transport! It offers a great day out for the whole family with water obstacles, adventure play and much more. 

Situated in the heart of Pontypridd, the park has been established for over 100 years! It's home to the newly restored Ponty Lido which has three heated outdoor pools, slides, games and a special splash pool for the little ones! 

Next door to the lido, is Lido Play. It has themed play equipment that celebrates the industrial success of Pontypridd and has swings, slides, and climbing equipment that will burn off the kids energy! 

If that's not all, they have lots of sports facilities and activities that take place at the park. As well as taking a dip in the outdoor pool, the have a cricket ground, football grounds which are home to two Welsh League teams, three tennis courts and parkrun which takes place every Saturday! 

The park also links to The Taff Trail and The Celtic Trail. The Taff Trail runs for 55 miles from Cardiff to the Brecon and The Celtic Trail runs across Wales from Chepstow to Fishguard, so there's lots to explore if you want to! 

Don't miss the bandstand which was added in 1926! It's surrounded by seasonal flowers and is a great place to sit and relax during summer. Music in the park still takes place here too!
