Margam Country Park has 1000 acres of countryside with a castle, orangery, deer park, visitors centre, lake and much more for a great family day out! They even have special family days and events on all year round!
The castle itself is a Grade I listed 19th century gothic mansion built in 1830 and is definitley worth a visit and the main entrance hall and staircase are open daily. The gardens are constantly being developed with beautiful trees, flowers lakes and more containing an Orangery, Citrus House and wildflower meadows to admire.
You'll also spot some wildlife too! The famous Margam Deer Herds roams through around 500 acres of parkland but they can be quite shy! You'll also see squirrels, foxes, badges, shrews and much more so keep a look out when you visit.
There's lots of family-friendly activities on offer. Within the orangery gardens there's a fairytale village with a range of miniature houses with fairtale themes and trails to do! Don't forget to check out the wood vibrations trail as you can grab a stick and make some music on the trail!
As well, you can hop on the train as it takes you all through the park and you'll enjoy fantastic views too! It has three carriages and holds 24 people and operates during the Spring and Summer season.
Slide, swing and climb across the adventure playground with over 40 exciting play points! It's a great spot to burn off some energy and you adventure through the watch tower trail and head down the tallest slide in the park too!
