Cosmeston Lakes Country Park has a variety of habitats covering 100 hectares of land and water. Some of the areas are designated Site of Special Scientific Interest which protects the rare and diverse plants and animals at the park.
The park opened to the public in 1978 and today is a haven for local wildlife. The park also runs walks, talks and educational workshops. They run pond dipping where children can see what they catch with a net, from bettles, water scorpions and more. Children will work in groups, taking in it turns and learn all about what they have caught.
During the Summer they also run bug hunting, using a sheet to discover what's crawling and flying around the park. There's also nature walks, den building and forest school sessions - check out the website to see what's happening before you visit!
You'll also find an adventure playground, ample picnic areas, gift shop, lakes with water sports hired by water spot clubs and plenty of walking routes to help you explore the park and the local area.
