About this activity

Trues Yard Museum is all that remains of King's Lynns old fishing community! Step back in time and discover what it was like to be a Northender with tours, trails and lots of interactive activities to get involved in. 

The museum is a heritage site that celebrates the fishing community of the North End which made a huge contribution to the areas economic and social life for 900 years. You'll discover the past and present and see the last surviving fisherfolk yard with cottages and nearly 250,000 people have visited since it opened in 1993.

They have lunctime talks, exhibition programmes, family history classes and tours of the North End too! 

There's research centre onsite too with books, archives, education room and much more. So whether you want to research family history, local history or simply need a space to relax and learn, it's a great space! 

They also have a True Yards Time Club too and if you're under 16, you get lots of goodies! It's free to join and it's a way to encourage young people and families to support the local museum. You'll get free admission when you wear your badge and you'll find about about local history, have fun at the special events and open days and take part in a range of fun activities around the museum.

The True's Yard tearoom serves a variety of cakes, snacks and refreshments.

The gift shop has a seafaring theme, including replica boats, ornaments, children's items such as pirate pencils and local crafts and books.

True's Yard is accessible almost everywhere for wheelchairs; lifts available.
