Formerly known as the New Walk Museum, the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery offers a great family friendly day out for all ages, where kids can explore galleries that showcase Ancient Egypt, as well as the wilderness of Space, and of course dinosaurs!
Kids can hear stories of Leicester's history, as well as see works from iconic artists such as Picasso, and even appreciate art from Victorian times.
Other hightlights include the Attenborough Collection as well as Leicester's internationally renowned German Expressionism collection! Sounds amazing!
The Leicester Museum & Art Gallery also host a vast number of temporary exhibitions, that feature works from the collections as well as touring exhibitions from national museums.
If THAT wasn't enough, kids can enjoy a host of fun activities from entertaining talks, as well as children’s handling sessions, fun lunchtime concerts, and more!

Locker facilities are available for use in the entrance hall, behind the grand staircase. Lockers cost £1 each (coins only).
Visit the gift shop to buy a range of exhibition merchandise and contemporary crafts! Great items to take home!
They engage with a variety of activities including running learning sessions, community outreach, exciting volunteering opportunities plus health and well being programmes. Just give them a call to arrange a field trip!
