About this activity

Foremark Nature Reserve is filled with woodland walks and open water in Milton in Derbyshire. There's plenty to do for the whole family to reconnect with nature and get outside in the great outdoors.

The reserve is set in the Derbyshire countryside and covers 280 acres, comprising of woodlands, open countryside, heathland and open water.

The man-made reservoir plays an important part in the water supply network of the area and is also an important habitat for wildlife too. You'll find lots of wildlife here including 200 types of birds and 250 species of moths!

There's lots of walks too through the woodlands and along a bridleway, which extends over 75 miles in total! All paths are multi-use so you can explore on two wheels if you wanted to.

There are waymarked routes too, just follow the coloured waymarkers. They also host some activitions on the water such as sailing and windsurding and cater for all abilities too.

There is a cafe at Foremark, but there are plenty of picnic spots around the nature reserve too where you can elax and take in the views.
