Workhouse and Infirmary in Southwell in Nottinghamshire, is an atmosphere Victorian workhouse built in 1824 and is one of the best-preserved examples in the country.
At the workhouse, you'll be able to imagine how the Victorian poor might have felt as they sought refuge. It's the most complete workhouse in existence and was designed to house around 160 inmates. The stories of those who lived and worked here help bring the building to life and helps visitors reflect on how society has tackled poverty through the centuries.
