A visit to Dunluce Castle will see you visit one of the most picturesque and romantic of all the castles you will find in Northern Ireland - and quite possibly the UK!
At Dunluce Castle there is SO much history to take in, as there is even evidence of settlements as early as the first millennium!
Today, the castle ruins that you can visit predominantely date from the 16th and 17th centuries. Dunluce Castle was inhabited by both the feuding McQuillan and MacDonnell clans. Kids, that's a fascinating period in history you might want to read up on!
To help you, Dunluce Castle also has historical and archaeological exhibits on display that can really help you deep dive into the history and why the castle is so important.
Don't miss a stop at the nearby Magheracross Viewing Point where you can take some beautiful pictures of the castle on its clifftop overlooking the ocean, and you'll also find a picnic area that makes an excellent spot to stop and take in the stunning, coastal scenery!
