About this activity

An incredibly popular destination for anyone in Chester, local or visitor, Grosvenor Park is worth a visit for your family day out!

Grosvenor Park is a stunning 20 acre park space in Chester, and dates back to 1867. The park is a grade II registered, award-winning park with the main ornamental park layout was designed by Edward Kemp. These are just SOME of the reasons to visit - but let's keep going!

The location of Grosvenor Park is perfect to give you the full Chester experience. The park is located just outside the city walls and overlooks the River Dee, and in fact Grosvenor Park is one of the finest examples of Victorian parks in the entire UK.

Within the park you'll find formal avenues lined with impressive trees, beautiful statues, and plenty of large sweeping lawns surrounded with ornamental shrub beds (actually one of the reasons the park is so well known!)

Don't miss the restored, and newly introduced Grade II listed features including the Second Marquess of Westminster Statue, St Mary’s Nunnery Arch, and the Quarry Garden!

Grosvenor Park is also popular with kids because there they can find the miniature railway, as well as a fun play area. Kids can enjoy a train ride during weekends, public holidays ans school holidays.

Then, every summer you have Grosvenor Park Open Theatre where happy audiences now define the sounds of Chester's summer!

An amazing park day out in Chester, and one not to be missed.
