Where are we going today?

The Fox River Trolley Museum is a great place for the whole family - EDUCATION THROUGH DEMONSTRATION and FUN! There are now two destinations - The Jon Duerr (Blackhawk) Forest Preserve and Castlemuir in South Elgin. The Jon Duerr (Blackhawk) Forest Preserve line opened in June 2002 is a new way to observe and enjoy nature as well as offering a nostalgic trip back to an era when electric trolley cars were part of everyday life.

We found this place by mistake, when we were cruising down Route 31. Overall I am really glad that I turned around. For $4 I had a chance to ride a vintage trolley through some beautiful sceneries near the Fox River. If you are in the area, definitely stop and check it out!!!

It's a pleasant and inexpensive experience for kids and train buffs. All volunteers, with all that means for service.

Don't trust their web site for times open.

    Muddy parking lot.

I hope if they do a terror trolley again it will actually be scary and get a better story teller. They should hire the ww2 actors and shoot zombies or something. And oleasegetsomequality cookies for the polar express, otherwise I really like the place.
