Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary rescues homeless and unwanted donkeys and gives them a lovely forever home in the Wroxall valley. There's plenty to do and see and there always regular events too that will be a great day out for the family.
There are 55 acres of land and grass in total and visitors are free to walk on! They rotate the paddock, only letting the donkeys use certain parts to allow the grass to grow again. Nobby's Nammet opens from 7am and doesn't close until 5:30pm after the doney's supper! It's where the supplies are kept alongwith medical equipment and tasty treats for them and thre are three pens with up to 50 donkeys.
Bruno's Bungalow is an indoor and outdoor woodchip paddock and it's a great surface for donkeys to plan on, so you might spot them here! You may even have the opportunity to groom them too!
Peanut's Pad is where the donkeys stay in the Winter and their sleeping space in summer, and they come here to shelter from the rain!
The Upper Farm heads in the direction of Whiteley Bank and you can complete a circular walk around the upper part of the farm if you wanted too as it provides more opportunities to the meet the animals.
You'll find shetlands, ponies, horses, donkeys, birds and wild rabbits and maybe even a sheep of two!

The award-winning Grazers Cafe is a beautiful rustic barn, converted in 2019 at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. Enjoy beautiful homemade local food, whilst looking over the Wroxall valleys, where you may be able to spot the donkeys in their paddocks.
Wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be used on site but may require some assistance in certain areas of uneven or wet ground.
