Fort Victoria is a country part right by the sea in the Isle of Wight! With a reptilarium, planetarium and imaginarium all on offer, so there's something to do for everyone of all ages!
The reptilarium is an exhibit of live reptiles and amphibians and invertebrates of the world that are on display, with lots of interesting facts about them too! The Planetarium will take you on a journey through time and space, stimulating your imagination in the theatre and exhibition space.
The Imaginarium is a place to go to unleash your creativity and pick up some local artist work too.
You'll also find the HMS Gladiator exhibition too. In 1908, the Royal Engineers stationed at Fort Victoria played a huge role in rescuing the survivors and you'll discover the story that unfolded on that day. It's a small exhibit with lots to read and will take about an hour in total to go round.
The samall visitor room contains all the information you need to find out about Fort Victoria and the wildlife found within in. It's open most days and is free for you to explore, remember to ask the staff some questions too!
Explore the beach fossils, wildlife diplsays and even watch a short presentation of the history of the location.
As well as this the countey park is a great space to get outside! Take a walk along the seashort, woodlands and more. Peak into the ponds to see what you can find and take in the stunning views from the viewpoint too.
In between Yarmouth and Totland off of the A3054 Hallets shute, you will see Brown Tourist information signs for Fort Victoria Country Park and attractions, follow those down Westhill Lane as far as you can go and the fort will reveal itself to you as you near the end.
