Isle of Wight Steam Railway is a preserved railway that creates a perfect backdrop for your day out as you ride on the steam trains and explore the stunning countryside with the family.

You'll have a view of the unspoilt countryside and remember to keep an eye out for a red squirrel or deer too! The carriages have been restored to pristine condition and the oldest was built in 1876!
Most visitors start their journey from the main station Havenstreet which is on the middle of the line. You'll travel to Smallbrook Junction and then it runs non-stop to Wooton before returning to Havenstreet. It;s a 10 mile round trip in total.
The journey takes around one hour, but leave a little longer so you can explore Havenstreet station a bit more! The main station is home to all the events too and the staff on the platform are dressed in traditional uniforms too.
At the station there are free daily flying dsplays too where you can see owls, falcons and kits in action. There's also the Haven Falconry which is next to the station and you can explore the cast collection of birds here too.
At the main station you'll come across the Woodland Stage where they put on performances and special events like theatre and story telling. Wander through the woods on the paths where you'll come to the stream and it'll take you into a section that is protected. It's a haven for red squirrels and woodpeckers too!
