Callendar House is the perfect day out for the whole family! Take a walk around the parklands, explore the house and exhibitions and burn off some energy in the playpark, there's lots to keep you occupied all day.
The gallery space has a changing exhibition of contemporary visual art exhibitions, so it's best to check the website before you visit so you know what's happening. T
he house dates from the 14th century and there's permanent displays telling you the history and story of the house and how the local area was transformed during the first century of the industrial era.
There are costumed interpreters creating an interactive experience in the kitchen, and you can even try some samples of the food!
The house itself is set within Callendar Park which covers a huge 170 acres! There are woodlands and gardens and lots of historical features to discover along the way. There's a golf course and a huge children's play park and plenty of outdoor activities for the family to get involved in year round.
