Armagh Planetarium is the longest running planetarium in the Britihs Isles and opened in 1968! It's equipped with state-of-the-art digital projector system providing an immersive experience under the full dome.
As well as the planetarium itself, there's a huge exhibition area too! Touch a real meteorite, spin the clouds of Neptune or create your own solar system, the possibilities are endless!
You'll learn the history of astronomy in Armagh, the Solar system, stars, galaxies and much more.
The new sensory room provides a relaxing space to discover the wonder of space as you tour the planets of the Earth.
The Human Orrery is embedded in the grounds of the centre and provides visitors a fun look at planetary motion. You'll be able to play the part of moving planets and it has an accurate scale model of the positions and orbits of the Earth and five other planets too.
The astropark is a scale model of the universe in a natural setting. Discover our solar system, galaxy and universe and explore the hill of infinity where you'll see objects in the Galaxy and further afield using the logarithmic scale.
There's a stone calendar too which helps track the changing of the seasons and you'll see where the sun sets too!
There's even a weather station in the grounds, gardens and much more for a fascinating day of discovering our planet.
