Ulster American Folk Park tells the story of Ilter people's emigration to North America in the 18th and 19th centuries. You'll learn about the life they led, the hardships they endured and how they built their new lives.
There are a number of exhibitions that take your back in time. You can walk the trodden pathways of rural Ulster and learn about the lives of ancestors. Explore the ancient and authentic buildings and some are still standing in their original locations too!
Step inside the blacksmith forge which was a vital part of rural life years ago. Outside of the forge stands the hooping plate and it was here the blacksmith made tools for the farm.
Imagine the family living in weaver's cottage as it's an exact replica of a weaver's house with three rooms and the middle room houses the handloom.
There's also the mountjoy meeting house, vestry, mellon homestead, campbell house, tullyallen mass house, hughes house and castletown school house to visit too. Each gives a unique glimpse into the stories of the past.
The journey exhibition is where you'll learn about what life was like on board an emigrant ship, including the challenges they face as they went on their twelve week journey across the Atlantic.

The majority of exhibits are accessible for wheelchair users, however a small number of exhibit buildings are inaccessible due to the historic nature of its design.
