It's not just at the top that Lookout Mountain has fun attractions to offer. At the bottom in St. Elmo, there are shops, restaurants, and unique attractions like homemade candle-making!
Then there is the ride itself. Known as "America's Most Amazing Mile", the Incline Railway lets you ride in the fun trolley-style cars that take you through the amazing beauty of Lookout Mountain, and give you a chance to learn all about the history.
Don't forget about the incline - at 72.7% grade straight up - it's quite a ride! There are scenic views of the mountains, and of course the views from the observation station at the top.
Chattanooga is a very cool city, so why not get to the top of it’s world and check it out on a much grander scale! The kids will love the incline of the tracks, and it certainly something that they won’t be forgetting in a hurry!

The incline railway is just like what it sounds, a railway car that goes up and down. The cable and pulley system it uses to travel is pretty interesting, and hearing about its history was great. It is at a steep incline, so watch your stuff if you take it.This is just part of the day of enjoyment, I won't go to Rock City or Ruby Falls without riding the Incline, it is fun and relaxing and adds to the day out for friends and family.

Definitely fun to do with family or a group. For those interested it also has historical significance as well. For those concerned about price, you can drive to the top instead of taking railway but that's half the fun.
