About this activity
We recommend you arrive 30 minutes early to enjoy the gift shop and the museum located at the depot, and on a train car. This will allow you to see videos to learn history about trains. We also have displays of the different periods of the railroad...with certain displays for kids to have 'hands on' experience.
We offer train rides too. We have 2 seats to purchase available with the engineer, or First Class that allows comfort and air conditioning. We also offer 'Open Air' cars that allow you to sit on benches and breathe in the beauty of the train ride in the open. Coach is another option, which allows seating in a closed car without air conditioning, but open windows. Please note, the train departs promptly at the specified departure time...please be on time or you will miss the train.
The train descends through deep limestone cuts, to the alisades of the Kentucky River, where we disembark, and can take pictures of Young's High Bridge built in 1889 or peer across the river to see the Wild Tukey Distillery or enjoy taking selfies with a gorgeous backdrop.

We are nestled in the Woodford County Park & Recreation which includes a picnic area, playground, and also offers Falling Springs Center, which has a splash park and pool and many other amenities. We are located at 175 Beasley Road, Versailles, KY Take the Versailles exit from the Blue Grass Parkway...or from Lexington, come down Versailles Road into Versailles and it is off Highway 62. Coming from Interstate 64 take the Versailles/Frankfort exit and go towards Versailles. Wood
