About Chattanooga Zoo

Who's ready for a day at the zoo! And not just any zoo - Chattanooga Zoo!

This super fun and family friendly Tennessee attraction is FILLED with all sorts of animals from all over the world - and is the perfect place for kids to not only have amazing animal encounters, but they can learn about them too!

Have you ever been face to face with chimpanzees? At Chattanooga Zoo, you can get right up close to these African beauties as they play in their waterfalls and outside play yard. In this Gombe Forest attraction, kids might even think they are part of their grooming ritual!

From Africa to the Himalayas, you can retrace the journey of Marco Polo (and if you don't know who Marco Polo is, why not learn at the zoo - another great reason to go!) and discover all the amazing creatures he might have encountered. Kids can also learn about endangered creatures like the snow leopard, so there are invaluable lessons for them.

Did you know that Chattanooga has a long standing association with the railroads? And what does that have to do with the zoo we hear you ask? Well, the Walkin' The Tracks exhibit is just for the animals you would find in the USA, and it's theme relates to that relationship. It's great for the family to see how amazing your own country is!

Deserts and forests your thing? Then head to the very fittingly named Deserts & Forests of the World exhibit, with alligators, foxes, vipers and komodo dragons.

What's great about the Chattanooga Zoo, is that every exhibit has information about the animals that are on show, so if there are any questions the kids have - the more the better! It's all about learning.

So for that animal filled family day out in Tennessee, the charming Chattanooga Zoo is waiting just for you!
