Turbary Woods Owl and Bird of Prey Sanctuary is an amazing place to visit, not just because you'll be seeing some beautiful birds of prey up close, but you'll also be helping this rehabilitation centre help and care for their unique collection of over 90 birds of prey.

Kids can come face to face with grand eagles, cheeky hawks, soaring falcons, beautiful owls, and even vultures plus some more unusual species!

All the birds at the Turbary Woods Owl and Bird of Prey Sanctuary are housed in large open fronted aviaries, as well as a sheltered in a woodland setting.

Here the whole family can experience first hand the breathtaking flight of a falcon. It's so incredibly impressive and inspiring!

In addition to the falcon, you can also see hawks, owls, and other stunning varieties are flown at the sanctuary.

The day out is also a great way for the family to gain hands on experience and knowledge about these fasinating birds.

Keep an eye out for flying displays of these amazing birds across the year! It's a sight that you won't want to miss!

Take the A59 from Preston towards Penwortham, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Golden Way, A582 (signposted Leyland, Chorley).

At the next roundabout; take the 2nd exit on the A582 to the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit again continuing on the A582 for approximately 1 mile turn right onto Chain House Lane.

Turbary Woods is situated on the right behind Tre-baron.

Turbary woods is a pure volunteer based, non profit making Sanctuary and all visits help towards the amazing work they do with these beautiful creatures

There is a café is in adjacent garden centre where you can pick up snacks and drinks

Flying demonstrations 1.00pm weekends and from 12pm weekdays - weather permitting

They LOVE having schools visit! It offers an invaluable educational experience for the students. Just give them a call to arrange

They are wheelchair friendly!

They do not take Pre-Bookings. Just arrive and pay on the day of your visit.
