Chiddingstone Castle is the perfect place to escape from city life and relax and have some fun in nature! There's lots to do for the whole family including discovering ancient artefacts, exploring the grounds and much more!
Explore the historic house and discover the collections and learn about Denys Eyre Bower, or take a walk around the grounds through lush lawns, woodlands and over the the Victorian Orangery, there's lots to do in a wonderful and tranquil setting.
Follow the woodland trails and lawn walks and see what you can find along the way. You can download walking maps and picture sheets which will help the children to explore the grounds. They also have a circular walk which is really popular or a shorter walk with still amazing views of the farmlands. Just visit their website and download them and take them with you on your visit.
The fields of eternity are just beyond the lawn in front of the main entrance and they are a cross between a grass-maze, garden and trail which provides all ages with a pleasant place to walk and play too!

From the B2027 follow the signs to Chiddingstone. The castle entrance for cars is located on Hill Hoath Road, a third of a mile from the village of Chiddingstone.

Chiddingstone Castle has a beautiful Victorian tea room, which serves a selection of homemade cakes, cream teas and light lunches. Hot and cold drinks are also available.
A variety of castle souvenirs such as mugs, make your own craft items, books and pocket money toys as well as honey preserves, fudge and local produce.
All principal entrances and exits are accessible by wheelchair (some require a ramp so please ask at the door or call in advance). All collections are sited on the ground floor and are easily accessible for wheelchair users.
