Tilgate Park has so much for families wanting a nature filled time, with a few surprises!
The park itself is everything you could want in a park. Plenty of picnic space, stunning lakes, beautiful gardens to miles of woodland for long leisurely walks.
In fact, Tilgate Park is actually an award winning park and is also home to Tilgate Nature Centre too!
Tilgate Nature Centre is home to over 500 animals representing over 100 species, which is always a great experience for kids! Kids can come face to face with a whole range of animals, from otters to owls, tapir to terrapins, reindeer to raccoon dogs.
Don't miss the invaluable public talks and feeds, or you might want to join one of the special experiences including Meet the Meerkats!
Tree Trail at Tilgate Park is also worth noting, as they have picked 30 of the best champion trees from China, Africa, Europe and America, and they are pretty impressive!
Each trail tree has been identified with its name and a number, which kids and adults can have fun finding!
Don't miss a stop at the Walled Garden as inside you can also fun a fun maze complete with a lookout tower in the centre. The route from the entrance to the base of the tower is 135 metres. The maze is free to enter (which we love!) and is open to anyone!
Enjoy, kids!
Tilgate Park is located on Tilgate Drive, Crawley, West Sussex RH10 5PQ.
Metrobus service 2 runs to the park on weekends and Bank Holidays. Monday to Friday it stops at K2 Crawley, a 15-20 minute walk from Tilgate Park.
