The Darwin Aviation Museum (formerly known as Australian Aviation Heritage Centre) is an accredited Northern Territory museum and is one of the major aviation museums in Australia!
The museum has an impressive presentation of aircraft and displays depicting the Territory’s involvement in aviation, both civil and military, from the early pioneers and record breakers through World War II and the jet age.
The major display item is a massive B52 bomber on permanent loan from the United States Air Force and is one of only two on public display in the world outside the USA.
You'll see all of the history on 557 Stuart Highway,
about 8 km from the city centre, opposite the Darwin Showgrounds.
Buses 8 and 5 run along the Stuart Hwy and bus stops are right in front of the gate. Buses run every day, including Public Holidays.
