Where are we going today?

Did you know that the Milwaukee County Zoo has over 2,200 amazing creatures for you to spend the day with? That's pretty amazing! They are made up from over 300 species, so kids will be coming away from your day out with a LOT of knowledge about these very cool creatures we have on our planet!

Milwaukee County Zoo has animals from ALL over the world - so there's a good chance that you will come across a creature you haven't even heard of before!

The Aquatic and Reptile Center has a HUGE collection of amphibians, fish and reptiles, and you can get right up close to their very big Pacific Coast Marine Aquarium so you really will be face to face!

If you have some little bird lovers in the family, then the aviary is where you should be headed! A range of beautiful and colorful birds all fly together in a fascinating walk-through exhibit which houses everything from hornbills to herons - even those cheeky penguins and those loud woodpeckers!

Head Down Under for those unique Australian marsupials. (Do you know what a marsupial is, kids? Well, a great reason to visit the zoo is because you can find out!) From kangaroos, to emus, and wallabies - make sure you look out for those baby kangaroos too. They're called Joeys and they are super cute!

From Australia to Africa, you can use your imagination that you are on the African savanna, before heading into the South American jungle. Different habitats from Asia, Africa and South America are all featured, with creatures like the hippo, black bear, giraffe, elephant, and event camels.

What's sweet about Milwaukee County Zoo is that there are also domestic farm animals - from the sweet honeybee to the screech owl. Even the domestic animals are fun to learn about!

Don't forget to check out the special events at the zoo, which are fun for the whole family!

We've been here twice now, once back in August of 2013, and the most recent August of 2014. Both times we did the zip line. It was a lot of fun. Although the employees that work at the zip line and climbing course weren't very friendly and got kind of rude because I wasn't familiar with putting a harness on. We chose not to eat here, it was way too expensive, for just a hot dog I believe it was $6. We bought a stuffed tiger as a souvenir, again very expensive, around $15. We visited the zoo in later half of the fall season. We could not see entire zoo as it was too cold outside. With whatever we were able to cover, i must say that the zoo is well maintained. Animals here look healthy and fresh. You can see big cats closely from glass with indoor viewing facility. Apes section did not impress me much. Apes at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago is way better. Train ride within the park is nice. It is enjoyable and not limited to Children. Overall I was happy with my visit and I am surely visiting the zoo sometime next summer.

My family and I went to the zoo over the weekend and had a wonderful time! I loved seeing all the animals so much that I can't tell which ones I like best! We even got to pet a lot of stingrays, and also enjoyed a train ride at the end of the day. I loved every minute of it! On a scale of 1-10 I'd give the zoo a 10. Also, everybody who goes should be sure to wear socks and comfortable walking shoes.

Great family zoo with lots to do. Bring your walking shoes and special exhibit cost extra. Animals seem health and happy. About 4 hours of fun.

If you need something fun to do around Milwaukee definitely check out the Zoo. It is a lot of fun and they always have a large variety of shows and special events throughout the year plus a ton of great animals. It always seems to be very clean and well kept as well. I have also been to numerous special events and weddings there and the facilities have all been very nice.

We'll definitely be returning this next summer. But I'd recommend to go eat at a local restaurant if you want to save any money at all.

Update - today was a good summer day to visit zoo. I am pleased to say that nothing on my review a year back needs update. Zoo is still well maintained and animals are healthy. For summer days I suggest to carry lot of water.
