About Milwaukee Public Museum

Love a good natural history museum? Head to Wisconsin!

The Milwaukee Public Museum began life all the way back in 1882, and today is home to over 4 million specimens that YOU can see!

The permanent exhibits are spread across three and a half floors, and we haven't started on the temporary exhibit space either! As you walk around the 150,000 sq ft of exhibits the family can explore the marvels of Africa, the wonders of Europe, be amazed as you delve into South and Middle America, and even stretch out to discover the Pacific Islands and even a Costa Rican Rainforest!

Love history? At the Milwaukee Public Museum kids can take a step back in time to explore the turn-of-the-century Streets of Old Milwaukee as well as explore a European Village. Want to see how ancient Mediterranean civilizations work? Here you can!

Then you can go back even further and see the world's LARGEST known dinosaur skull! Pretty amazing! That and a life sized replica of a T Rex and you are back in the Jurassic times!

Keep an eye out for the many events that the Milwaukee Public Museum host across the year too, as they are great for families! There are also guided museum tours, book clubs, "Science On Tap", seasonal fun and SO much more!

So why not explore the wonders, animals, cultures, and natural environments of this amazing world we live in. It's a great learning experience for kids, and there is plenty to see!
